DAY 2 @ ST JOHNS
Today marked the second day of my teaching practice at St. John’s, and it was a day filled with new experiences and interactions. Having the first period with the students of 8th B, I felt both eager and a bit anxious to make a strong impression. Sailaja teacher’s introduction of me to the class was met with enthusiasm from the students, which immediately put me at ease. Their excitement was contagious, and it set a positive tone for the lesson.
I began the class by showing a video on Mahatma Gandhi, which captivated the students' attention and served as a meaningful segue into introducing the chapter on Rosa Parks. The students were engaged and curious, which made the lesson flow smoothly. Following my class, I observed Athira's Malayalam lesson as part of peer evaluation. This was a valuable experience, as it gave me insights into different teaching approaches and allowed me to reflect on my own methods. Later, I was assigned duties for the quiz competition and speech evaluation, which provided me with a broader perspective on the various activities that contribute to the holistic development of students. Overall, today was a fulfilling day, offering me a blend of teaching, learning, and administrative experience that I found both challenging and rewarding.
