COMMUNITY LIVING CAMP
SAMANVAYA 2K24
A community living camp is a prescribed program in the B.Ed curriculum. However, apart from being a criterion for grades, a community living camp is an experience that is worthwhile for individual growth and community building. The community living camp was organized by Mar Theophilus Training College in association with the 67th College Union, AGINEYA, and IQAC from 12th February 2024 to 16th February 2024. The five-day residential camp was named SAMANVAYA 2K24 and was conducted on the college premises itself. The name of the camp, suggested by the student community, means harmonious coordination, integration, or synthesis. It refers to the act of bringing together, which indeed was very apt in defining our camp. Mrs. Shiney Jacob, Assistant Professor, Natural Science Department, MITC, was the community living camp coordinator.

Reflection
'SAMANVAYA' offered everyone an experience to cherish for life. It was a well-organized camp with fun activities and learning where everyone cooperated well. The five-day community living camp provided a wealth of experiences, memories, and values. The unity of the students along with efficient organization gave a remarkable experience. The enlightening and interactive sessions not only widened our horizons of knowledge but also reduced our inhibitions.
The community living camp was, indubitably, one of the milestones in our two-year B.Ed course. It helped to inculcate values of life, teacher qualities, and cooperative living. It gifted us a new perspective as prospective teachers. The classes mainly dealt with relevant and significant topics like first aid and health care practices at Ananthapuri Hospital, fire and security training sessions, self-defense classes, gender sensitization workshops, drug awareness programs, and digital sessions conducted for elder women, visits to Ammathottil and Jayamatha Home, and agricultural visits. The community living camp has truly been a transformative experience, leaving an indelible mark on my heart and mind and reminding me of the profound impact that unity, cooperation, and shared purpose can have in shaping a brighter future for all.
