DAY 8 @ST JOHNS

 DAY 8 @ST JOHNS

Today marked the eighth day of my teaching practice, and it was a bittersweet experience as it was also the last day before taking a two-week leave for our university examinations. The day began with my morning duty, followed by teaching the poem The Sower to 8.B. With three teaching periods today, I was able to complete all the lesson plans I had prepared, which felt like a significant accomplishment. The students were engaged with the poem, and I felt a sense of fulfillment in delivering the lesson effectively.

Krishnakumar observed my class as part of the peer evaluation process, and later in the day, I also observed Devika's class. The fifth period allowed me to wrap up the poem, and in the last period, I joined Athira’s class to show a movie. The students thoroughly enjoyed it, and it was a joyful way to end the day. Before leaving, we captured many photos to commemorate the moments, making it a memorable day that I will miss during the break. The connections formed and the experiences shared with both the students and my peers have left a lasting impact on me.

Today marked the seventh day of my teaching practice, and I feel increasingly comfortable and confident in my role. I had the first period with 8.B, where I successfully completed the lesson on Rosa Parks. The students were engaged, and it was rewarding to see them grasp the key concepts of the chapter. Sailaja teacher’s request for me to begin the next chapter tomorrow gave me a sense of progress and responsibility, motivating me to prepare even better for the upcoming lessons.

In the latter part of the day, I observed Arathi's class in 8.A, which focused on Natural Science. It was insightful to see her teaching approach and how she handled the subject matter. The peer observation experience continues to be invaluable, as it allows me to gather different teaching strategies and techniques that I can adapt to my own classes. DAY 5 @ST JOHNS

 DAY 5 @ST JOHNS

Today was a unique day during my teaching practice, marked by a blend of routine duties and unexpected events. My morning began with duty on the ground floor, which helped me start the day with a sense of responsibility. I then proceeded to 8.B for my first period, but due to the science exhibition at Mar Ivanios College, I had only 15 minutes to engage with the students. Though I wished for more time, I made the most of the brief session.

In the afternoon, I focused on peer observation, attending Jayadhar's English class and Neeraj's Math class. Observing their teaching methods offered me new perspectives and ideas that I can apply in my own lessons. Additionally, Nadhanine Sir from the Malayalam optional came to observe Athira, and we took a memorable snap with him. Although I missed out on the science exhibition, the day still offered valuable learning experiences and pleasant interactions with my peers. Overall, it was a nice day, filled with moments of growth and camaraderie.

DAY 4 @ST. JOHNS

 DAY 4 @ST. JOHNS

Today marked my fourth day of teaching practice, and it was a day filled with valuable experiences. Arriving early due to my morning duty, I felt prepared and energized to start the day. My first period was with 8.B, where I aimed to create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere. The class went smoothly, but I was also observed by Ancy ma'am, who provided constructive feedback on areas where I could improve. Her insights were invaluable, reminding me that teaching is a continuous learning process.

During the second period, I had the opportunity to spend some relaxed time with the students during their PT hour. It was a refreshing change of pace, allowing me to bond with the children outside the usual classroom setting. Later, I accompanied Athira to her class, offering support and gaining insights from her teaching style. In the last hour, I conducted a peer observation in Betcy's class, which provided me with new ideas and techniques to incorporate into my own teaching. Overall, it was a good day, filled with learning, reflection, and enjoyable moments with both colleagues and students.

DAY 3 @ST JOHNS

 DAY 3 @ST JOHNS

Today was a special day at St. John’s as the school celebrated Teachers' Day with students stepping into the roles of teachers. This unique experience created an energetic and joyful atmosphere throughout the school. According to the timetable, I entered my class and, along with Sailaja teacher, observed the class conducted by Dhikshit, one of the student-teachers. It was delightful to see the students take on teaching roles with enthusiasm and creativity. Their efforts were commendable, and the experience provided a refreshing perspective on teaching from the students' point of view.

After the class observation, I was assigned to assist in coordinating a quiz competition led by Sajini teacher. The quiz was well-received, with many students actively participating, showcasing their knowledge and competitive spirit. Later in the day, Navya and I were responsible for managing the PT period for the students of 10 E. Keeping the students engaged and ensuring their safety during PT was a new responsibility that I found both challenging and rewarding. Overall, the day was filled with activities that allowed me to witness the students’ versatility and enthusiasm, making it a memorable and enriching experience.
