A DAY AS EXAM INVIGILATOR
As an exam invigilator at St. John's School, my day began with a mix of anticipation and responsibility. Arriving early to ensure everything was in order, I checked the examination hall setup, ensuring that all desks were properly arranged and that necessary materials were in place. The atmosphere in the hall was a blend of nervous excitement and focused determination.
As students entered, I greeted them warmly, offering encouragement to help ease their anxiety. My role was to monitor the examination process, ensuring that the rules were followed, and to provide assistance if any issues arose. Throughout the exam, I observed students as they worked diligently, noticing their various strategies and approaches to tackling the questions. One of the key aspects of my role was maintaining a calm and controlled environment. I ensured that any disturbances were addressed promptly and that students adhered to the examination guidelines. I also handled a few queries regarding the exam paper and managed a few minor issues, such as a student needing extra paper.
The experience was both challenging and rewarding. It required a balance of vigilance and empathy, as I had to be alert while also providing a supportive presence for the students. By the end of the day, I felt a deep appreciation for the meticulous nature of examination procedures and the effort that goes into ensuring a smooth process. Overall, it was an enlightening experience that gave me a new perspective on the examination process and reinforced the importance of fairness and integrity in education.
