20/11/2023- 24/11/2023
This week is so special...

20/11/2023

Teaching does get easier with more experience, but teachers of all levels need a little extra inspiration when the alarm clock rings on Monday morning.
It’s called #MondayMotivation

21/11/2023 – Making an Impact As Carl Buechner wisely said, "They may forget what you said but they will not forget how you made them feel." Today, I had the opportunity to show a short film on time to the 8 A class, arranged by Bindhu Teacher. The students were very enthusiastic about the film, and together with Gopika, we also made some decisions related to the day's activities. The engagement and positive reactions from the students were truly rewarding.

22/11/2023 – t Today was a day to reflect on the essence of teaching. The role of a teacher is not just to impart knowledge but to awaken curiosity and inspire students. This sentiment was at the forefront of my mind as I continued my teaching practice, striving to be an "awakener" in the classroom.

I am not a teacher, but an awakener.
– Robert Frost

Inspired by Robert Frost’s quote, "I am not a teacher, but an awakener," I focused on sparking curiosity and encouraging critical thinking in my students. This approach has been increasingly effective in engaging students and fostering a deeper connection with the material.

24/11/2023 – Peer Observations After completing my teaching period, I joined Athira and Gopika for peer observation. We visited classes 9.A and 9.B to observe and provide feedback. These peer observations are invaluable for learning new techniques and refining our own teaching methods.

13/11/2023 to 17/11/2023 @ST JOHNS

13/11/2023 to 17/11/2023

13/11/2023 – Election Day at MTTC On Election Day, after completing the election process, we returned to school. My first period had already ended by the time we arrived, and I had several substitution hours throughout the day. The change of routine was a bit abrupt, but it gave me a chance to interact with different classes and observe various teaching styles.

14/11/2023 – Children’s Day Celebration My teaching period was scheduled for the first slot today. Afterward, I observed Krishnakumar's class where he effectively covered the topic of 'Democracy.' For Children's Day, we organized a poster-making competition. The students engaged enthusiastically, and it was heartening to see their creative expressions in celebration of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru's 134th birth anniversary.

16/11/2023 – Profile Writing and Student Engagement I taught the topic of profile writing on Oscar Wilde in 8 B today. I focused on encouraging active participation and engagement from the students. After the session, I asked a student to draw a rose on the board and led a discussion on the symbols associated with it. The students were very involved, which made the lesson both enjoyable and effective.

17/11/2023 – Physical Education Class at MTTC Today, George Sir arranged a physical education class at MTTC, where we were introduced to various Yoga practices. Sir demonstrated different Yoga poses and techniques. This experience was a great opportunity to learn about integrating physical education into our teaching practice, and it was enjoyable to participate in the Yoga demos.

Observation @ST JOHNS

Observation by Dr. Ancy Ma'am

Today, Dr. Ancy Ma'am observed my class, which made me a bit anxious. Despite my nerves, I was able to conduct the class effectively. Ma'am provided feedback, noting both strengths and areas for improvement. I’m committed to addressing her suggestions and enhancing my teaching methods for future classes. In the afternoon, we took some photos with her to commemorate the day. This experience was both challenging and valuable, and I look forward to applying her feedback to improve my practice
